It can also be paired with a second Access Controller and a DualSense, which can all act as a single controller input. The PS VR Processor Unit was a box that both the PlayStation 4 and PSVR connected to. Puzzle Piece 3/4 – When you see the electrical hazards, continue to the right where you see the purple webs instead of continuing up.

Astro Can’t Run Off Dangerous Ledges

Go under the bridge and immediately on your right pull the exposed cable cords to grab a throwable canister with a net inside. Punch the shell to reveal a steering wheel, then stand in front of it push the Options button to bring up the map. Go to the far right corner of the beach, next to the building, on the opposite side of where the Gran Turismo Astro Bot is. Proceed through the stage as normal until you reach the first dynamite enemy.

I’ve seen uses like blowing into a mic to get an in-game fan to move since the days of the original Nintendo DS, so it doesn’t necessarily bring anything all that fresh here. That being said, the fact that my biggest complaint is just that I really wish there was more, is almost more of a compliment. Astro’s Playroom is an extremely well-designed platformer and getting access to it for free feels like a steal. Even as-is I’d wager Sony could easily charge $20 and most people would happily pay that without feeling ripped off at all. As a result, it is a good thing that Astro’s Playroom comes with protection from it. Essentially, if Astro seems as though he is going to enter into a fall that will kill him, he will stop at the very edge. Players who make a bad jump at a bad time will find that it is perfectly possible for them to die from it.

Dualsense Wireless Controller

Each of them can be completed in around a minute or less and there’s a leaderboard to see how you stack up. The final boss is a deep cut reference to a classic PS1 tech demo that you’ll immediately recognize if you’ve been gaming with PlayStation long enough and it was a real treat to experience. Puzzle Piece 4/4 – Once you reach the section of the level where it is raining, before going up the dark wall, jump to the platform on the right to reach this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Right at the start of the level, cross the tightrope and jump across to reach this puzzle piece. Artifact 2/2 “EyeToy Camera” – At the next checkpoint you can obtain the machine gun, which allows you to shoot through glass walls. Take the machine gun back to where puzzle piece 3 was, where you might have noticed a box with a wire pull in it.

That said, we really recommend you don’t rush through Astro’s Playroom, as it’s an experience that deserves to be savoured. Take your time exploring the level and discovering all of the Easter eggs; spend a moment walking on the different surfaces and seeing how it affects the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback functionality. Above all else, have fun with friends and family, passing the pad around – experiences like this don’t come around often. Fortunately, Astro’s Playroom has dynamic jumping, which means that holding down X will result in a much bigger jump than just tapping X. Something that interested individuals should keep in mind if they are struggling with the bigger gaps that can be found in the game.

The list goes on, and while some mechanics feel like gimmicks (steering with motion controls will never be fun), the majority of them are cool. Even more than that, they make a substantial difference in your connection to the action, conveying an amazing tactile sense of the world. The slight downside is that Astro’s Playroom is concise, as completing the game will take you an hour and a half. However, there are many collectibles to obtain, and Team Asobi has added free content updates. If you ever wanted to earn a platinum trophy, this is the game to do it.

Puzzle Piece 3/4 – From the start on the right side of the area, jump to the wooden platform and pull out the three wires to spawn this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 3/4 – After sliding down the long cable, pull the next wire and go up the two platforms moving up and down. Every time I had fun with the game, it always ended in me encountering an area that is simply impossible for me to finish.

Artifact 1/2 “PS Move Navigation Controller” – From the start of the area pull up the wires on the right to grab a throwable item, then throw it at the platform to drop it into the water. Jump across and pull the three small wires, followed by the revealed large middle wire to get this artifact. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – From the start of the area, go to the left and go through or around the igloo to find this puzzle piece.
